Truck hire charges up 8-10% in India

Truck owners never had it so good. Leaving behind the harsh impact of the long strike during the second week of April and the recent lowering of the diesel price, the truck owners have struck it rich with the hire charges in the last six weeks moving up by 8 to 10 per cent.
To Re-Brand as ASTAR AIR CARGO

DHL Airways today announced that the Miami-based cargo airline is launching a re-branding program, and changing its name to ASTAR (pronounced A-Star) AIR CARGO, INC. The re-branding will commence immediately and the name change will become effective upon completion of the acquisition of DHL Airways by a U.S. investor group led by Chairman and CEO John Dasburg.

APL Logistics opens logistics centre in Mexico City

APL Logistics, a subsidiary of NOL, opened a logistics centre in Mexico City recently. The 11,800 square-meter (127,000 square-foot) facility provides freight consolidation and deconsolidation, purchase-order management, shipment repackaging (cross-dock work), warehousing and other value-added logistics services, sasid Manny Fernandez, head of Latin America activities for APLL.
World leading express delivery companies eye NE China

Global express delivery giant Federal Express was recently approved to conduct international business in Dalian, a tourism resort and port city in northeast China"s Liaoning Province, following DHL, UPS and TNT. Prior to entering Dalian, world leading express delivery companies were already providing international service for some major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
